Medical Support Specialist

Job Description Position: Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reporting to the Plasma Center Manager. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing results. Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results. Notify donors of unsuitable test results. Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and follow procedures for medical emergencies. Consult with Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and coordinate evaluations by occupational health/ER. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Licensed or certified in the state of responsibility (LPN or LVN). Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Benefits $24.32 - $33.44 hourly wage range for the Burleson, TX location. The actual wage may vary with qualifications and experience.
