Certified Medical Assistant

Overview We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for Gadsden Physician Management clinic, affiliated with Riverview Regional Medical Center. Also referred to as an Outpatient Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA), Family Medicine Medical Assistant/Medicine, or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), our clinic supports providers by preparing patients for exams, performing clinical tasks such as taking vitals, administering injections, and documenting in the EMR. They also help with patient education, care coordination, and front office duties to ensure efficient and high‑quality care. Responsibilities Prepare patients for exams by taking vitals, updating medical history, and noting current symptoms Assist with clinical procedures such as EKGs, injections, wound care, and immunizations Collect and process lab specimens including blood draws, throat swabs, and urinalysis Administer medications, coordinate referrals and follow-ups, and document care in the EMR Provide patient education, support infection control, and help with scheduling and front office tasks Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent Medical Assistant Certification or 90 days to complete certification Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current Minimum one year work experience in public contact job Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus Work experience in health care Full benefits at Prime Healthcare: Equal Employment Opportunity Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.
