Job Details:


• Night shift hours from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• Schedule provided 4 weeks at a time with 2 weeks advance notice
• No on-call responsibilities
• Must be available to work 2 holidays (nights/evenings or day of)
• Minimum 2 years of strong emergency department experience required
• First-time travelers accepted with EPIC experience
• Patient ratios: 1:3 on routine days, flexing to 1:4 or 1:5 during high census; 1:2 for RNs with critical care experience
• Patient population includes behavioral health (10%), geriatrics (25%), pediatrics (15%), and adults (50%)
• Case types include trauma, cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and mental illness presentations
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS
• Preferred certifications: ENCP, TNCC, and de-escalation training (MOAB or CPI preferred)
• Required skills include basic ED skills, stroke, trauma, splinting, pediatric experience, chest tubes, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and line management including central lines
• Must be proficient in EPIC (required), Alaris, Pyxis, and bedside/nursing station tele monitoring
• Support staff available include ED techs, charge nurse (24/7), triage nurse, phlebotomy, case manager, physical therapy, intake counselor, public safety, respiratory therapy, hospitalist, house supervisor, and trained forensic team
• Floating is rare and limited to assisting with hard IV sticks; no patient assignment required when floated outside of the ED
• Scrub color: any color, professional attire required
• Free parking available in designated employee area


Facility:


This facility is a 101-bed Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with a 24-bed emergency department, 5 overflow IR beds, and 20+ hallway beds. The emergency department is fast-paced and high acuity, seeing between 90 and 110 patients per day during peak times. The facility offers comprehensive 24/7 support services and a well-staffed team to ensure high-quality patient care across a diverse range of medical conditions.
