Job Description
Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac care, specifically within a high-acuity setting.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients, with a focus on cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeries.
• Utilize advanced medical equipment, including intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella devices, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and epicardial pacemakers.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor patients' conditions, administer medications, and perform assessments to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and post-operative care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an Intensive Care Unit, preferably with a focus on cardiac care.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification is preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is a plus.

Schedule & Holiday Expectations

This position features a varying schedule with shifts typically from 7 AM to 7 PM. Candidates must be willing to work during major holidays, including two of the following: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day, as well as one minor holiday such as the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve.
