Location: Kansas City Metropolitan Area (Overseeing clinics in Independence, MO, Overland Park, KS, and Kansas City, MO) Compensation: $120,000 – $165,000 / year (Commensurate with experience) Industry: Healthcare / Senior Primary Care / Value-Based Care About the Role We are seeking a high-caliber, hands-on Market Operations Leader (Market Manager or Market Director level, depending on experience) to drive operational excellence, team leadership, and financial performance across our senior-focused primary care clinics in the Kansas City metro region. In this role, you will act as the primary business leader for a 3-clinic market serving elderly patients under value-based Medicare Advantage models. Operating in a tight dyad partnership with the Market Medical Director, you will oversee a cross-functional footprint of ~35 team members—including Center Managers, primary care providers, care navigators, and market growth leads—to deliver exceptional, member-first care while driving strong market P&L performance. This is a dynamic position for an agile operational leader who is comfortable straddling macro-level strategy with micro-level, boots-on-the-ground clinic execution. Key Responsibilities Market Leadership & Operational Strategy Clinic Operations & Culture: Oversee daily operations across 3 regional centers. Establish core management cadences, mentor and elevate Center Managers, and build a resilient, accountable culture focused on clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. Hands-On Leadership: Serve as a working leader—willing and able to step in directly to support center-level operations during critical staffing transitions or operational bottlenecks. Clinical Dyad Partnership: Partner closely with the Market Medical Director to harmonize business operations with clinical strategy, ensuring high-quality outcomes and seamless care coordination. Cross-Functional Alignment: Organize the local leadership team around shared KPIs. Lead weekly market performance meetings driving accountability across financial, growth, quality, and retention metrics. P&L Responsibility: Maintain complete oversight of the multi-million-dollar market P&L. Routinely audit operational performance, manage utilization, identify cost reductions, and optimize resource allocation. Value-Based Care Execution: Deeply monitor and manage Risk Adjustment Factor (RAF/RAP) accuracy, pre-visit planning workflows, chronic condition recapture, and Annual Wellness Visit (AWV) completion rates. Utilization & Medical Loss Ratio (MLR): Drive down unnecessary emergency department visits and readmissions through robust post-discharge follow-ups, same-day urgent access, and integrated case management. Patient Experience & Growth Member Retention & Quality: Champion a patient-first environment tailored to senior care. Utilize patient feedback and operational data to improve retention and support organic growth. Local Market Development: Provide local oversight for Market Growth and Network Managers, fostering strong relationships with local payor partners, specialist networks, and community organizations. Qualifications & Skills Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Finance, or a related field. Management Experience: Minimum 7 years of supervisory leadership in a primary care medical setting, value-based care organization, or high-touch hospitality environment. Multi-Site Oversight: At least 2 years of direct experience managing multi-site operations or multi-clinic regions. P&L Fluency: Proven experience directly managing an operational P&L, with strong financial acumen in budget management, cost containment, and resource planning. Primary Care & Risk Experience: Deep, hands-on operational experience within Primary Care Physician (PCP) clinics operating under full-risk or value-based Medicare Advantage models. Technical VBC Knowledge: Mastery of RAF/RAP coding workflows, HEDIS/Stars measures, and utilization management strategies at the clinic level. Leadership & Coaching: Demonstrated ability to mentor junior or emerging Practice Managers and elevate clinic-level leadership capabilities. Resilience & Adaptability: Ability to step into fast-paced, complex operational environments, stabilize clinic workflows, and solve acute staffing or process challenges effectively. Travel: Willingness to travel locally across the Kansas City metro area up to 50% of the time (with occasional regional/national travel as needed). Why Join Us?
