Project Electrical Engineer

Job Description Envista Forensics is seeking a Project Electrical Engineer to conduct forensic investigations related to electrical incidents and failures, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and experts. Responsibilities Investigate electrical failures, defects, or damage in industrial, commercial, and residential settings. Determine causes of electrical system failures and assess design, construction quality, or maintenance procedures. Lead field investigations and document property damage for multi‑party examinations. Collaborate on large, complex projects within multi‑disciplinary teams. Research failure modes and provide repair or remediation recommendations. Prepare reports and letters detailing the cause of damage for clients. Provide deposition and expert testimony in product liability for civil, federal, and occasional criminal court cases. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent discipline. 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering field; a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of employment or the ability to obtain one within 12 months. Willingness to travel to clients’ sites (25–30%); ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions. Familiarity with forensic investigation practices and principles is a plus. Preferred: 5 years of experience evaluating electrical failures in commercial or industrial settings. Power systems experience (generators, transformers, switchgear, etc.) is a plus; electro‑mechanical experience is desirable. Experience working with lawyers, insurance companies, and adjusters is preferred.
