Ultrasound Technologist - Gastonia, NC

Seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to work within a dynamic imaging department serving both a hospital and outpatient clinic environment. This contract opportunity operates on a 13-week cycle and provides valuable exposure to advanced medical care, including stroke and cancer patients, within a certified trauma and chest pain center.


Schedule and Hours

• Night shift: 1900-0700
• Weekend coverage required as needed; no set rotation
• Must be available to work approximately 75% of holidays
• Minimal on-call obligation

• Minimum 1 year of professional experience as an Ultrasound Technologist (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Current BLS certification required
• ARDMS or ARRT credentials (specific anatomy certification not needed)
• Demonstrated vascular ultrasound proficiency
• Ability to adapt, multitask, and learn workflow processes rapidly
• Compassionate approach to care for patients with diverse diagnoses, including stroke, heart attack, oncology, and infectious disease
• Comfort with floating between main hospital and outpatient imaging center
• Experience using Siemens Sequoia and P2000 ultrasound units preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR system a plus
• All candidates must submit a valid photo ID for compliance (NC state license not required)

• Perform high-quality general and vascular ultrasound exams across a varied patient population
• Collaborate with radiologists, imaging staff, and occasionally with students in a teaching environment
• Float as necessary between hospital and outpatient clinic settings
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using EPIC EMR
• Adhere to all safety and infection control procedures

• Exposure to advanced patient care in a Level 3 Trauma and Stroke Center
