Travel Surgical Tech/ORT - Certified Surgical Technologist/CST

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for an Operating Room position requiring 2 years of experience and NBSTSA certification.

Job Details

• Hospital Operating Room setting,
• 3x12-hour Day shifts, 0645-1915, Monday-Friday with no set day off,
• Weekend call and holiday shifts required,
• EPIC charting system used,

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Tech experience,
• 1 year of scrubbing experience required,
• 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital preferred,
• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program, or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past 6 months, or 2 years of scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last 3 years,
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required,
• BLS certification (AHA) required, must not expire prior to start,
• Active state license required if applicable,
• DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Function as a member of the surgical team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, reporting to Surgical Services management,
• Maintain sterile field and ensure a safe operating room environment,
• Recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes,
• Prepare the operating room and instruments for surgical procedures,
• Assist the surgeon(s) during procedures within ORT scope of practice,
• Identify and respond appropriately to emergency situations,
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for the next procedure,
• Participate in surgical operations safety initiatives and practices,
• Support system-wide surgical operations initiatives,
• Returning employees must be separated from any facility within the health system for at least one year before being eligible for a new travel assignment
