Senior Communications Officer

Senior Communications Officer Nevada State University invites applications for the role of Senior Communications Officer. This position provides comprehensive communications support to the Office of the President and the institution, including executive, media, internal, crisis, and public and government affairs communications. The officer serves as spokesperson and primary speechwriter for the President and collaborates with executive leadership. Primary Responsibilities Support the implementation of the university’s Integrated Communication Plan. Develop communication strategies integrating print and digital mediums across platforms for the Office of the President. Draft speeches, talking points, video scripts, presentation slide decks, briefing papers, opinion editorials, letters, emails, press releases and other informational materials. Represent the President at events, meetings, hearings, and legislative sessions. Work with public relations consultants to develop story ideas, coordinate press conferences, media training, and respond to issues. Oversee and manage the President’s social media platforms and website. Liaise with key community partners. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or Communications. Five (5) years of related professional experience. Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship. Salary & Benefits Budgeted salary: $86,445.
