Regional Plant Operations Director (DMV) Location: Greater Washington, DC / DMV Metro Area (required) Portfolio: Five (5) senior living communities across the DMV Job Type: Full-time, Exempt Travel: Frequent local travel to community sites (valid driver’s license required) Job Summary Greystone is seeking a Regional Plant Operations Director to lead preventative maintenance, life safety compliance, and capital planning across a portfolio of senior living communities. This role partners closely with community and regional leadership, coaches Directors of Maintenance, and ensures all facilities are safe, well-maintained, and consistently “tour ready.” Key Responsibilities Drive preventative maintenance (PM) performance across all communities using CMMS/TELS or similar systems Ensure life safety compliance and regulatory readiness; lead survey preparation and corrective action plans Plan and execute capital projects (CapEx) with strong scope control, timelines, and budget discipline Standardize work order prioritization and completion expectations (24–72 hours by priority) Conduct routine site inspections to maintain consistent “no off days” standards (interior and exterior) Manage vendors and service contracts; review proposals and recommend best-value solutions Lead, coach, and hold Directors of Maintenance accountable to established standards Partner with Executive Directors/General Managers and Operations Leadership to improve performance and remove barriers Support pre-opening, transitions, and special projects as needed Provide after-hours support for urgent plant operations or life safety matters Qualifications Must reside in the Greater Washington, DC / DMV metro area (not a remote role) High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred (facilities, engineering, construction management, business, or related field) 5–7+ years of experience in plant operations, facilities, or building maintenance 2–3+ years of multi-site leadership experience required Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or other regulated environments strongly preferred Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems Proven leadership ability with experience coaching and developing maintenance teams Strong vendor management and project execution skills (scope, schedule, cost) Proficiency with technology and reporting tools; CMMS experience (TELS or similar) preferred Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently within the DMV Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays Company-paid life insurance (with voluntary options) Short-term and long-term disability Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Professional development opportunities Work Environment & Expectations This role operates across multiple communities and requires frequent travel between sites.
