Site Leader/Senior Director Of Operations

Alliance Machine Systems Int is seeking a Site Leader/Senior Director of Operations to lead manufacturing performance and operational scale across its North American production sites. This is an onsite role located in Spokane, Washington. This is a considerable leadership role for an experienced operational leader who understands the complexity of producing industrial automation equipment and engineered systems.

The Director of Operations is responsible for the planning and execution of all operational functions including but not limited to manufacturing, assembly, materials, logistics and paint for 400 Team Members at Alliance sites. This leader is responsible for achieving site key performance indicators of safety, quality, performance, and financial targets.

The successful candidate will lead an operational environment where products may include complex electrical, mechanical, robotic and controls. The role will involve managing high-mix production, engineered-to-order or configure-to-order manufacturing, supply chain, production planning and the delivery of technically sophisticated equipment to major industrial customers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop the strategic goals and objectives for optimization of material flow while driving for a continuous improvement, people-centric culture; in alignment with the organization's overall vision and customer requirements.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of operational leaders while providing leadership for the entire site.
• Budget and manage cost by developing standard procedures that maintain daily operational expenses within budget allowance while continuing to focus on cost reduction measures.
• Manage the site financial metrics and prepare accurate monthly financial forecasts.
• Work directly in collaboration with aftermarket sales on project scope accuracy to ensure customer expectation and financial targets are achieved.
• Lead execution operations across the company's production facilities.
• Set standards for safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and cost.
• Improve the transfer of products and projects from engineering into manufacturing.
• Increase capacity while maintaining quality, delivery, and customer performance.
• Improve on-time delivery, lead times, throughput, and gross margin.
• Strengthen production planning, scheduling, supply chain, capacity planning, and work-in-progress control.
• Manage critical components, suppliers, and long-lead materials with procurement and supply chain teams.
• Establish scalable processes for complex, high-mix, engineered-to-order automation products and systems.
• Support new product introduction and design-for-manufacture initiatives.
• Improve collaboration across sales, engineering, project management, procurement, manufacturing, continuous improvement and quality.
• Lead recovery plans for delayed or strategically important projects.
• Establish clear operational performance-management KPIs.
• Develop plant managers, production managers, and operational teams.
• Support facility expansion, automation investment, capital planning, and potential upcoming new-site development.
• Partner with the executive team on manufacturing strategy, capacity, organizational design, and long-term growth.

Requirements include:

• 15+ years' experience in manufacturing operations, or plant leadership within an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree required (preferably in engineering); MBA or other advanced degree a plus.
• At least 7 years in manufacturing operations leadership, with direct responsibility for manufacturing operational performance.
• Experience within industrial automation, robotics, machinery, electrical equipment, motion control, or engineered capital equipment manufacturing.
• Direct leadership of operations, rather than engineering or project delivery alone.
• Experience with complex, high-mix, engineered-to-order, configure-to-order, or project-based production.
• A proven record of improving delivery, quality, productivity, capacity, cost, and gross margin.
• Proven experience defining KPIs, managing reporting and showcasing data-driven results around overall business management.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams across production, quality, planning, and supply chain.
• Strong understanding of the transition from engineering and product design into manufacturing and operations.
• Experience leading managers and developing scalable operational structures.
• Working knowledge of ERP, MRP, production planning, scheduling, and manufacturing-performance systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills across engineering, sales, project management, supply chain, service, and executive leadership.

Compensation: $180,000-200,000 base pay, with long term and annual cash incentive programs.
