You’ll collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure students who are deaf or hard of hearing receive consistent and meaningful interpretation services throughout their school day.

What You’ll Need:

• Demonstrated experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in a school environment
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with educational terminology
• Appropriate interpreting credentials or certifications (such as EIPA, RID, or state certification)
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, educators, and families in a collaborative team
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately interpret spoken and signed communication in classroom settings and school activities
• Ensure equal access to educational content for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
• Adjust interpreting methods to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students
• Support classroom participation and inclusion by facilitating communication between students, staff, and peers
• Assist with educational planning as a valued member of the student support team
