Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a CVOR position requiring 5+ years of CST experience and strong cardiac and vascular expertise at a Level I Trauma facility.

Details

• Hospital CVOR unit with general OR, hybrid OR, and trauma work settings
• Day/evening shift schedule combining two 8-hour and two 12-hour shifts, occurring anytime between 6:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
• Weekend rotation distributed equitably among staff
• Call duties included and distributed equitably among staff
• Uses Epic charting system
• Performs CVOR procedures including CABG, EVAR, TEVAR, and valve replacement

Requirements

• 5+ years of overall CST experience required
• 2+ years of dedicated cardiac and vascular experience required
• 1 year of CVOR experience required
• 1 year of experience in a Level I Trauma facility required
• BLS certification required
• Endovascular experience required (hard requirement)
• Experience in general OR and vascular procedures
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, crash cart management, scrubbing, and circulating
• Equipment documentation skills required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• License required if applicable
• RN candidates who scrub will be considered

• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted
• Former employees eligible for assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for traveler positions
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• Responsibilities include supporting CVOR, general OR, and hybrid OR surgical cases
• Participates in emergency management, fire safety, and transplant-related procedures as needed
• Maintains proficiency in isolation precautions, PPE, radiation safety, sharps safety, and specimen handling
• Performs equipment and instrumentation care including scopes, cell saver, crash cart, and electrosurgical units
