Senior Systems and Mechatronics Lead

You own how an ambitious physical product holds together technically. You set the architecture, resolve the hard questions with designers and engineers, and leave a decision trail the rest of the team can build on. What you'll do Translate product goals into a system architecture and verifiable technical requirements Define subsystem boundaries, interfaces, power needs, operating states, and failure behavior Review existing CAD, bills of materials (BOMs), electrical concepts, controls, and software assumptions for gaps and conflicts Lead technical reviews across design, engineering, software, fabrication, and manufacturing Decide what a prototype has to do for real and what can be simulated Produce system diagrams, risk registers, test plans, and integration sequences Support technical intake, prototype troubleshooting, design reviews, and production readiness decisions What you bring Seven or more years in electromechanical, mechatronics, robotics, interactive hardware, equipment, or systems integration work Evidence of leading a product or system with several interacting physical and digital subsystems Strong judgment on requirements, interfaces, risk, testing, and failure states Clear communication with designers, engineers, fabricators, and suppliers Comfort working from incomplete information and naming the next decision to make Preferred experience Relevant but not required. Connected consumer products, interactive experiences, robotics, medical equipment, appliances, or industrial automation Controls, embedded systems, Unreal or Unity integrations, or networked devices design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA), hazard analysis, regulated-product development, or nationally recognized testing laboratory (NRTL) preparation System architecture Requirements and interface matrix Prototype fidelity plan Technical risk register Integration and verification plan Technical design review decisions About the opportunity This is a paid, project-based contract opportunity, and assignments depend on suitable project availability.
