We believe that exceptional care starts with exceptional people. About the Role We’re looking for a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team. You will assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders. Assume primary responsibility for all respiratory care modalities. Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures; maintain patient records; and select, assemble, check, and operate equipment. Perform all duties under the direction of a Physician. You will help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, you’ll be a vital part of our Respiratory Therapy team, ensuring excellent service, collaboration, and patient outcomes in a fast‑paced healthcare environment. What You’ll Do Conduct patient assessment and interpret patient information and recommend appropriate therapeutic plan of care. Utilize evidence based practice and critical thinking skills. Monitor patient’s physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes, and consult with physician if adverse reactions occur. Read prescription, measure arterial blood gases, and review patient information to assess patient condition. Develop and/or change plan of care based on the assessment/reassessment process and/or changes in patient status. Work as part of a team of physicians, nurses and other health care professionals to manage patient care. Assume leadership role as needed, delegate and assist in patient care as appropriate. Actively participate on committees, councils, policy development and professional organizations as appropriate. Set up and operate devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators, following specified parameters of treatment. Perform intubation and extubation. Provide emergency care, including artificial respiration, external cardiac massage and assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Educate patients and their families about their conditions and teach appropriate disease management techniques, such as breathing exercises and the use of medications and respiratory equipment. Perform chest physical therapy, including postural therapy, percussion vibratory, oscillatory procedures, suctioning and airway management. Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in alignment with Saratoga Hospital values. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support health, healing, and service excellence. Perform clinical responsibilities with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. Use hospital systems and tools to document care and support operations. Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and support patient and staff satisfaction. Serve as a positive, professional representative of our hospital and community. What You Bring AAS degree in Respiratory Therapy. Licensed through the New York State Education Department as an RRT. Must be registered within one year of hire. Must obtain ACLS, PALS & NRP within 6 months of hire. CPR certified. NBRC certification required within 1 year from hire date. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
