The Associate Counsel will advise trust officers and other administrative staff regarding trust administration, undertake legal research and document drafting, perform various legal reviews and analyses, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

In her/his role, the Associate Counsel will ensure that all high priority matters are attended to the same day or within 24 hours of when the matters arise, and that the matters are handled to completion within 24 hours (if feasible) or otherwise in a timely and efficient manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with senior legal staff on day-to-day matters and long-term projects.
• Draft and perform legal reviews and analyses regarding trust and estate planning documents.
• Communicate with finance team to review contracts.
• Handle client inquiries and requests with professionalism, providing timely and accurate responses.
• Work closely with trust officers to address trust-related issues, providing guidance on trust services that aligns with clients’ estate planning and wealth transfer goals.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards associated with wealth management and trust activities.
• Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations.

Required Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and Adobe Acrobat
• Superb attention to detail
• Ability to think critically and reason with respect to business, financial and organizational matters
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize
