Teacher Assistant

Lifesteps is hiring Child Care Staff (Teacher Aide Assistants) for the two Butler PA child care locations.

Lifesteps is a childrens and human services organization which has been serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years by helping individuals and families with lifes changing needs. The Agency provides programs and services to help children of all abilities with their early care and education needs.

Lifesteps is immediately hiring Full-time or Part-time Child Care Staff (also known as AGS / Teacher Aides / Classroom Assistants) to work Monday through Friday daylight hours in the daycare and preschool center. Job duties include the care and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 5 years assisting with lesson planning creating activities supervising playtime provide a nurturing environment update parents about the childs routine and complete documentation as needed.

Full or Part-time positions work Monday through Friday. No Evenings No Weekends. No Holidays.

The full-time schedule is 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Part-time hours can be flexible.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience working with children - can be paid or unpaid work such as Summer Camps Church Nursery Babysitting Bible School Volunteering with children etc.
• Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds without assistance
• Ability to provide acceptable state clearances
• Able to multi-task and work in a team environment.

Preferred:

• Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development Special Education Psychology Criminology Womens Studies Art or Music Therapy Elementary Education or similar Human Services field
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development Special Education Elementary Education or similar Human Services field
