Location: Claremont, CA Job Posting Title: Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (Part-Time) Job Details and Requirement: The Claremont Autism Center at Claremont McKenna College is seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to join our research team on a part‑time basis. The successful candidate will operate under the supervision of the PI and Director of the Autism Center. As a core member of the Claremont Autism Center’s research team, the Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will contribute to ongoing projects focused on neurodevelopment, emotion regulation, clinical processes, psychophysiology, and families, and will have the opportunity to develop independent lines of research. Candidates should have an expressed interest in and some prior experience with neurodivergent individuals, but prior published work in neurodevelopmental differences is not required. This is a one‑year, temporary, part‑time (20 hours per week) position with the possibility of renewal. Candidates in advanced interview stages will be asked to submit up to three publications and three professional references to be contacted only with the approval of candidates. This part‑time position is being offered in conjunction with a parallel part‑time clinical staff psychologist position. Applicants well‑qualified for both roles are encouraged to apply to the dual positions. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reporting to the Director of the Autism Center, the Post-Doctoral Research Fellow works both independently and collaboratively to perform the following essential duties and responsibilities: Facilitate community engagement and study recruitment. Support the development and management of the Center’s research registry. Prepare Institutional Review Board (IRB) materials and coordinate IRB submissions and relevant communications. Collaborate with the PI to design research studies, including independent projects. Supervise data collection activities. Support and oversee data entry and management. Assist in supervising undergraduate and graduate student research projects. Prepare research findings for presentation and publication. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS & SKILLS EDUCATION: A Ph.D. in Clinical or Developmental Psychology or a closely related field is required. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years of research experience with at least one co‑authored publication. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience collecting data from neurodiverse and clinical populations. An interest in or prior experience with data collection involving the study of autonomic psychophysiology. Established research reliability in the administration and scoring of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule‑2 (ADOS‑2). Experience performing advanced statistical modeling and analysis with longitudinal and multivariate datasets, including multi‑level modeling (MLM), structural equation modeling (SEM), latent profile analysis, causal mediation, and related techniques. Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages (e.g., SPSS, MPlus, R). LICENSES: A valid driver’s license or equivalent alternate form of transportation to off‑site meetings and events is required. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: The candidate must possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or to be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities. Demonstrate an understanding of, and appropriate adherence to, research ethics and codes of conduct. Ability to attend to detail, multi‑task, and use effective time management, planning, and organizational skills to perform responsibilities accurately and to meet expected deadlines. Knowledge of standard computer software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). OTHER REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this part‑time position are 20 hours per week. This position requires flexibility and availability to work late afternoons and evenings as needed. Some weekends may be required, particularly for data collection activities. Travel to professional conferences may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of The Claremont Autism Center.
