Client is seeking an experienced and strategic MuleSoft Integration Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of integration solutions using the MuleSoft platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting scalable, robust, and secure integrations that meet the business needs of the organization. This role requires deep technical expertise in MuleSoft, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
In addition to integration responsibilities, this position develops and maintains high-level designs for overall logical and technical IT architecture. Employees in this role provide leadership, strategic decision-making, and guidance within technical disciplines, responding to disruptive technologies and solving unique and complex problems. Individuals facilitate and orchestrate the delivery of targeted business outcomes through technical decisions and serve as top-level experts and visionaries in the development of roadmaps, strategy, and design for assigned technology areas. The MuleSoft Architect drives the integration architecture strategies and execution across the NextEra Enterprise. As part of the Customer Services IT organization, this role is involved in the implementation of cutting-edge cloud-based integration/CRM platforms, supporting a large set of NextEra stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical hands-on background in integration technologies (Java/J2EE, REST, SOAP, Web Services, Messaging systems, etc.) and extensive knowledge in Enterprise Architecture, API-based design and development, API security, and automation. This position works closely with business partners to analyze strategy and trends, defining the requirements, principles, and models that guide technology decisions. It requires effective communication and enforcement of technology standards with business partners, alongside a deep understanding of industry trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies. The role is pivotal in driving digital innovation and developing roadmaps through new technologies and approaches to fulfill strategic business plans. It involves defining high-level migration plans to address gaps in the current state, as well as coaching, mentoring, and leading technical subject matter experts to enable and drive consistency across technology architectures. The MuleSoft Architect designs and owns governance, assurance, and standards activities for enterprise technology architecture compliance. The position oversees and facilitates the evaluation, risk assessment, selection, and design of hardware and software technology and product standards. Additionally, it delivers technology architecture artifacts, potentially including reference architectures or concepts of operation. The MuleSoft Architect ensures that all integration solutions meet the business needs of the organization in a scalable, robust, and secure manner, and performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Architecture and Design:
- Lead the design and architecture of integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform to connect various systems and applications across the enterprise.
- Develop integration architecture blueprints, technical specifications, and design documentation to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
- Define and implement best practices for API-led connectivity, microservices architecture, and reusable API components.
- Lead the development and deployment of integration solutions, including APIs, connectors, data mappings, and transformation logic using MuleSoft.
- Design and implement MuleSoft flows, orchestrations, and integrations with on-premises and cloud-based systems.
- Ensure the seamless integration of MuleSoft solutions with existing systems and applications.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to integration developers throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Conduct architecture reviews, design discussions, and code reviews to ensure adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
- Identify and address technical challenges, risks, and opportunities to optimize the integration architecture.
- Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to understand integration requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between development teams, ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Collaborate with IT operations and security teams to ensure robust infrastructure, data security, and compliance with industry standards.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and best practices in integration architecture and MuleSoft.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, technology enhancements, and innovative solutions that drive business value.
- Lead initiatives to adopt new technologies and methodologies that foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for MuleSoft integration solutions, including design specifications, technical guides, and user manuals.
- Provide training and support to development teams and end-users to enhance their understanding and adoption of integration solutions.
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops to promote best practices and architectural standards.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in integration architecture and development, with a focus on the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing complex integration solutions in a large or complex organization, preferably in the energy sector.
- Deep knowledge of MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including API Manager, CloudHub 2.0, Anypoint Studio, and DataWeave.
- Strong technical skills in Java, Python, or other programming languages relevant to integration development.
- Experience with RESTful and SOAP web services, API design, microservices architecture, and message queuing systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a strategic mindset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience working in a mature Agile development environment, with a highly matrixed, fast-paced set of teams.
- Understanding of Field Services module, Mainframe CIS WebServices, Fusion Middleware platform, and data conversion from XML payload to JSON are a plus.
