Tractor Trailer Driver

The Tractor Trailer Driver is responsible for transporting parts, components, and equipment to and from customer, vendor, and company locations and job sites. Truck Drivers must be able to perform independently under limited supervision. Examples of the types of machinery that the Driver will transport include earthmoving equipment, diesel engines, electric power generators, lift trucks, and allied products. Drivers will also transport palletized loads, hydraulic cylinders, final drives, undercarriage components and tracks, and other items associated with our business. Tractor Trailer Drivers must be able to safely operate and load all types of equipment and safely operate a lift truck in the loading and unloading of cargo. The person in this role will demonstrate initiative, commitment to teamwork, enthusiasm for customer service, and dedication to finding solutions in an efficient manner. Tractor Trailer Driver will advance in classification as attitude, skill level, and job performance allows. Responsibilities Adhere to basic safe machine operation and inspection Conduct and document daily vehicle inspections Maintain truck and driving log according to DOT Regulations Adhere to DOT and Company safety regulations and procedures Ensure preventive maintenance on truck is performed as required Load and unload truck cargo Properly secure truck cargo for transport Ensure proper documentation for cargo including MSDS for hazardous materials Follow 5-Star Contamination Control procedures Maintain clean, neat, and orderly truck Keep accurate records of all work Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (Education) Candidates must possess strong mechanical aptitude (Experience) Prior experience hauling equipment and operating equipment considered for stronger consideration (Experience) Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills required (Experience) Written and verbal communication skills (Skills) Basic computing skills (Skills) Area specific technical training (Job Training) OSHA and MSHA required training (Job Training) Compliance training (Job Training) Driver's License Personal CDL Class A Med Card Safety Summary Work is normally performed in a customer, vendor, or Company shop or on the location of customer job sites. Exposure to physical risk and all weather conditions is associated with this position. Driving for extended periods of time is often required.
