Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

4/10-hour days, Tuesday through Friday with on-call coverage required (1/3 share).

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be a crucial part of the Operating Room team at a regional health consortium. This position involves handling a variety of elective and emergency surgical cases, ensuring efficient multi-tasking and timely progression of surgical procedures throughout the day. The RN will also utilize after-hour call services to assist with staffing needs for nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in elective and emergency surgical cases including abdominal, thoracic, urology, ENT, plastic surgery, orthopedics, vascular, and OB/GYN.
• Ensure efficient operation of surgical cases throughout the day.
• Perform duties related to patient care and safety during surgical procedures.
• Handle after-hours surgical staffing as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (BSN, Associate degree in nursing, or Diploma in nursing).
• Current and valid RN license in the State of Alaska.
• 3 years of experience in the Operating Room.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Experience in Critical Access Hospital and/or Rural Operating Rooms strongly preferred.
