Radiation Therapist

Radiologic TechnologistUnder supervision, and following established procedures, performs a variety of radiologic procedures in two or more modalities, using standard, portable and/or specialized X-ray equipment to apply prescribed ionizing radiation in order to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patient's illnesses or injury.Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:Graduate of Radiology program and maintain ARRT and state licensureExcellent communication, customer service and organizational skillsAbility to operate radiologic equipmentPreferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:Experience in acute hospital settingExperience with sterile techniqueExperience with administering contrast dyeAssisting IR proceduresExperience with PACSPrevious Cerner experience a plusEducational Requirements:Graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology; Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology.License/Certification:ARRT registration and Massachusetts licensure requiredAdvanced registration for additional modalities and hospital IV certification as appropriate for the modality. preferredPhysical Demands:Use hands to control objects, tools, or controlsStand or sit for long periods of timeRepeat the same movementsOn feet for long periods of timeBend or twist bodySee details of objects that are less than a few feet awayHold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the armMake quick, precise adjustments to machine controlsUse fingers or hands to grasp, move, or assemble objectsMove two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in placeSpeak clearly so listeners can understandUnderstand the speech of another personUse stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tiredAge Specific Criteria: Ability to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas.Ability to Meet Job Performance Expectations: Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or other individuals in the workplace, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
