Overview: Business Title: Analyst II Position Title: Cell Biologist II Division: Consumer Products Services Entity: ATL Location: Indianapolis, IN Reports to: Manager FLSA: Non-exempt Hours Worked: Typically, [Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week. However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned. Position Summary: The Cell Biologist II will support preliminary active compound discovery and testing. They will also support assay development which is a key role to identify active compounds: screen compounds from “weak active compound” to a “potent and effective compound” using a variety of methods. Duties and Responsibilities: It is everyone’s responsibility to live out our Values and Absolutes by Shaping a World of Trust while ensuring responsible progress. Maintain mammalian cell culture lines, clone selections, transfections Create cell line banks. Prepare media and other cell culture reagents. Perform strong aseptic techniquesExposure to operating and programming laboratory automation and liquid handling Update and maintain biological inventories. Perform experiment documentation (ELNs). Perform bioassays, biochemical assays, PBMC isolation Data analysis, presentation of data Assist in any troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation Interact professionally with both internal and external clients Maintain a high-level knowledge of various aspects of laboratory operations Receive tasks and information from scientist in charge regarding changes in processes, priorities, workflow, safety requirements or other information. Meetings regularly with the scientist in charge to discuss progress, upcoming work changes, and any new items Communicate effectively with both internal and external contacts Remain flexible to ever-changing needs in a positive and professional manner Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and in the Company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures. Comply with clients and Company management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies. Follows the guidelines set forth by clients and the Company Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan. Adhere to the requirements of the Company Quality System. Other duties as defined by Manager, department needs and workload. Skills & Proficiencies: Mammalian cell culture experience Biochemical and cell-based assays Strong interpersonal skills – written and oral communication, relationship building, being approachable, demonstrate initiative, adaptable, and project a positive attitude Must have an excellent foundation in technical problem solving to assist in trouble shooting, samples management, shipping, ordering, equipment or logistical issues Written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively in a group setting, with colleagues and clients Organizational and time management skills Ability to perform multiple tasks Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet or exceed deadlines Individual and Team work ethic Proficiency with Windows, Word & Excel Attention to detail Positive attitude, self-motivated, high level of engagement Adheres to company values Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree in Biology or another related field. 1+ years working in a research laboratory. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above. Compensation Range: $25.00-$28.00 per hour (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as location, education, experience, and skillset).
