NURSE PRACTITIONER

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)

The Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) is certified by the State Board of Nursing to provide medical services under the direction of the supervising physician. The CRNP provides patient medical screenings to determine medical attention, reviews patient medical records to determine health status, obtains patient medical history, and performs history and physical examinations.

Qualifications:

• Education: Certified NP in the State of Pennsylvania with 2 years relevant clinical experience in a medical setting. Previous experience with behavioral health patients highly preferred.
• Experience: Two years clinical experience, preferably working with behavioral health patients.
• Licensure/Certification: Certified as a NP by the American Nurse's Credentialing Center.
• Knowledge: Must possess relevant clinical knowledge of the medical and psychiatric needs of all age groups, including age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior management, and CPR training.
• Supervision Received: Supervising Physician Supervision Exercised: None Line of Promotion: Clinical to Administrative
• Duties: The CRNP works in a behavioral health hospital environment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.
