Job Overview:

Pay Range: $16.85hr - $21.85hr

Requirement/Must Have:

High School diploma or equivalent.
Basic understanding of computers.
Ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
Ability to learn and understand specimen types related to ordered tests.
Ability to learn and understand compliance regulations related to test ordering.
Flexibility to work nightshifts, weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required.
Strong interpersonal skills to foster a positive environment.
Ability to adapt to change in a production environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Perform general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department including A-station and presort.
Handle pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory.
Perform imaging, microfilming, centrifugation, and aliquoting of specimens.
Ensure all functions are performed with confidence, accuracy, and in a timely manner.
Work in a biohazard environment while practicing established safety habits.
Adhere to core values, safety policies, and compliance procedures.
Maintain a neat and clean work area.
Meet productivity and quality standards and departmental completion times.

Nice to Have:

Knowledge of laboratory testing and laboratory specimen processing.
Medical background including medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
Previous hospital laboratory experience.
Previous experience in a production environment.
