Cleanroom Assembly Technician - Mira Mesa - 1st Shift - $20/hr

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Assembly Technician, where you'll engage in the intricate assembly of medical devices, contributing to the innovation of wearable biosensors. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with research and development engineers, performing both standard and non-standard builds.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly tasks and gradually build units independently.
• Meet daily production goals through repetitive yet easy-to-learn processes.
• Conduct wire soldering and small assembly tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• Utilize microscopes for assembly and carry out visual inspections.
• Collaborate with engineers on non-standard builds and product development.
• Review documents, update computer records, and manage raw material logs.
• Run batch processes and manage multiple sensor setups, ensuring timely completion.
• Create enzyme solutions for sensor calibration and manage batch processes.

Essential Skills

• Experience in mechanical assembly and batch record management.
• Proficiency in prototype assembly, assembly line operations, and research and development.
• Ability to sit and stand throughout the day and lift up to 25 lbs comfortably.
• Competence in hand tool usage, soldering, microscope assembly, and laboratory tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience with cartridge assembly, reagent manufacturing, and batch records.
• Familiarity with documentation practices and effective communication with engineering teams.
• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and work with staff members.
• Experience in executing non-standard builds and trying new manufacturing processes.

Work Environment

Flexibility is key as shifts may start at 6am, 6:30am, or 8am, with potential overtime and occasional Saturday work. Operate in an ISO Class 8 cleanroom, adhering to strict policies regarding attire and personal grooming. Be prepared to wear gowns, masks, gloves, and other protective gear. Embrace the challenge of working over 100 different processes with varying cycle times, and maintain focus and adaptability amidst changing schedules.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
