Senior Engineer, GPU RTL Design - Pixel Pipe

Role and Responsibilities As a Senior Engineer GPU RTL Design Engineer you will contribute to the design and development of complex RTL blocks and subsystems for Samsung’s next‑generation mobile GPU IPs. Your responsibilities include: Collaborating closely with hardware and software design teams across multiple GPU functional domains—including control, datapath, memory systems, and fixed‑function logic, with a focus on pixel processing and graphics pipeline stages. Defining microarchitecture and implementing RTL for complex GPU blocks and subsystems, translating architectural specifications into efficient, maintainable, and scalable hardware designs. Driving design quality and accuracy by developing clean, synthesizable RTL and working with verification teams to enable thorough validation, resolve functional issues, and ensure coverage, robustness, and sustainability across graphics processing flows. Addressing interface definition, timing, power, performance, and area tradeoffs early in the design cycle, with a strong focus on graphics performance and pixel throughput efficiency. Taking initiative on moderate‑to‑complex projects and advancing best practices by exploring emerging GPU technologies and RTL design methodologies. Skills and Qualifications 2+ years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or a relevant technical field, or a master’s degree. 2+ years of hands‑on experience in semiconductor RTL design for complex SoC, CPU, or GPU architectures. Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog with experience in microarchitecture development, integration, and debug. Solid knowledge of GPU or high‑performance digital design concepts, including control logic, datapath design, memory systems, and fixed‑function acceleration within graphics or pixel processing pipelines. Ability to interpret architectural specifications and make design tradeoffs across performance, power, and area (PPA). Experience with front‑end ASIC design flows, including linting, synthesis, timing analysis, and design quality checks. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, and the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast‑paced, global team environment. Our Team The GPU Project and RTL teams at SARC/ACL own the microarchitecture development of features for Samsung’s current and next‑generation mobile GPU IPs. Our work spans core RTL design, front‑end implementation, power and performance optimization, firmware enablement, and the infrastructure needed to deliver scalable, production‑ready designs. You will join a diverse, highly collaborative organization with direct impact on consumer technologies used worldwide. Compensation & Benefits Base pay range: $139,000 – $208,400, dependent on education, skills, experience, and location. Eligible for MBO bonus compensation and possibly long‑term incentive plan and relocation. This is an exempt position and is not eligible for overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
