Responsibilities
- Litigation Management:
- Manage a diverse caseload of personal injury defense matters in federal court, focusing on cases within the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
- Develop and execute effective litigation strategies, overseeing case analysis, motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Legal Research and Analysis:
- Conduct legal research on federal laws, regulations, and precedents to support case strategies.
- Interpret statutes and legal opinions to advise clients accurately and promptly.
- Client Interaction:
- Maintain communication with clients regarding case developments and strategies.
- Collaborate with clients to gather information and evidence for cases.
- Court Appearances:
- Represent clients in federal court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
- Prepare and file legal documents, pleadings, and motions.
- Negotiation and Settlement:
- Engage in settlement negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes ethically.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff to ensure seamless legal service delivery.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active Florida State Bar membership and admission to practice in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
- 2-5 years of legal practice with a focus on litigation.
- 1-2 years of federal court experience, preferably in personal injury defense.
- Proven success in managing federal cases, including trials and hearings.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
