Histology TechSchedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM Hourly Range: $55 - $60/hr.Job SummaryThe Histotechnician prepares and processes tissue specimens for microscopic examination to support accurate diagnosis and patient care. Responsibilities include processing, embedding, sectioning, examining, and staining tissue specimens received from surgical pathology, autopsy, hematology, cytology, and research departments.Job ResponsibilitiesAssist in training Clinical Laboratory Science students, pathology residents, and new employees.Serve as a technical resource for laboratory procedures and operations.Enter testing information and results into computerized databases.Investigate and resolve issues involving equipment, patient results, specimens, and workflow.Participate in team-based or individual special projects and assignments.Prepare tissue slides through processing, embedding, sectioning, examination, and staining.Report test results to healthcare providers.Consult and collaborate with healthcare providers regarding test results.Required Skills & QualificationsAssociate's Degree: Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.NAACLS-Accredited Histotechnician Program: No prior experience required upon completion.Preferred QualificationsASCP certification is highly preferred but not required.Work ScheduleMonday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
