Supplier Governance Senior Manager

This remote role manages supplier governance and performance for clinical trial operations at Amgen, emphasizing oversight of CROs and laboratory vendors. Responsibilities include conducting governance meetings, evaluating suppliers, managing risk, and driving process improvements across development programs. The position requires a clinical background with relevant education ranging from high school diploma plus 10 years of experience to a doctorate with 2 years of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee performance and quality of Clinical Pharmacology CROs and laboratory suppliers
• Facilitate governance meetings, monitor key performance indicators, and manage supplier issues
• Support evaluation, selection, and startup of suppliers for clinical trial programs
• Lead proactive supplier risk management at portfolio and study levels
• Mentor and manage performance of direct reports while driving process improvements

Requirements

• Doctorate degree with 2 years clinical experience, or Master's with 4 years, or Bachelor's with 6 years, or equivalent
• 9 years life sciences or medically related work experience with 6 years biopharmaceutical clinical research
• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, FDA regulations, and international regulatory requirements
• Experience overseeing suppliers on clinical trials and clinical pharmacology work
• Risk management and project management experience
• Leadership experience managing direct reports in matrix organizations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for senior management audiences
