Level Designer

**Team context**

This role partners with gameplay, art, and product stakeholders to turn concepts into documented, testable content for both original KBG titles and partner work.

**Work model**

Level plans, playtest feedback, and cross-discipline reviews drive the work from concept through polish.

**_Time-zone overlap_**

Requires dependable overlap with US business hours for reviews, testing sessions, and milestone syncs.

**_Reporting line_**

Reports into design leadership while partnering closely with gameplay, art, and production.

**_Tools_**

Level editors, blockout workflows, design documentation, collaboration platforms, and iterative playtest reviews.

**Requirements:**

* Demonstrated level design experience on shipped or production-stage games.
* Strong understanding of pacing, player guidance, difficulty tuning, and replay motivation.
* Ability to create clear level documentation, blockouts, and implementation notes for cross-functional teams.
* Comfort iterating from playtests, feedback, and player behavior data.
* Portfolio evidence showing structured level design thinking and execution.

**Responsibilities:**

* Design and document layouts, mission flow, and environmental progression.
* Own readability, challenge pacing, and player guidance across assigned content.
* Work with art and engineering to preserve design intent through implementation.
* Iterate on levels based on testing results, feature goals, and production constraints.
* Help build reusable level patterns that support future updates and event content.
