Position Summary

The Admissions Specialist will support Employ Prince George’s service delivery by assisting jobseekers in the second phase of the job seeker journey. The Admissions Specialist will respond to inquiries utilizing multiple communication channels and the Virtual Career Center. They will serve as the liaison between the jobseeker and the program staff to streamline the enrollment process.

In this supportive role, the Admissions Specialist will conduct interviews and assist job seekers through the admission process, including explaining eligibility criteria and retrieving applicable eligibility documentation. The Admissions Specialist must be outgoing and customer driven. This role also requires proficiency in data entry, including maintaining timely records in Excel and other databases as instructed.

The Admissions Specialist reports to the Director, Intake and Admissions. They work closely with the Workforce Services Division, Apprenticeship Innovation Program, Data Governance & Administration, and Regulatory Compliance Departments. This position is exempt and has no supervisory function.

Customer Service

• Conduct Intake Interviews following the job seeker’s Initial Assessment with the Career Care Coordinator to document identified needs, employment goals, barriers, qualifications, and requested services, and complete an objective assessment through appropriate case documentation to support eligibility and enrollment.
• Engage customers during job fairs, and outreach events to provide information about EPG’s workforce programs and guide customers to enroll in our Virtual Career Center.
• Engage and follow up with customers through phone calls, emails, live chats, and text messaging to assist prospective workforce program customers through the admission process, including collecting documentation necessary for program enrollment.
• Consistently conduct follow-up meetings with all applicants to increase the probability of successful matriculation into an EPS’s intensive care services.

Program Liason

• Make program recommendations for prospective workforce services for enrollment once all necessary documentation has been received, validated, and uploaded

• Communicate with program staff to ensure timely follow-up and scheduling of enrollment appointments
• Partner with departments across the organization to support outreach events, communicate the number of active customers in the pipeline, and flag any technical issues occurring in the system

Data Entry

• Achieve the expected daily goals including schedule adherence, call and email flow, and documentation of recruitment status and activities in real-time
• Support customers with data entry and uploads required to demonstrate program eligibility
• Maintain records in Excel spreadsheets and databases that accurately reflect the customer's interest and status
• Review spreadsheets and essential information in databases to support department leaders with data required to monitor progress and produce reports

Education & Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent credential (GED). Associate's degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant sales and/or customer service experience in relationship or consultative sales
• Sincere interest in helping others achieve life goals
• Strong expertise with Microsoft Office Suite as well as internal databases where participant status, eligibility, and services will be recorded.
• Effective technical and problem-solving skills, including CRM, case management tools, and scheduling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends in alignment with program schedules and special events.
• Previous experience in workforce development and supporting job seekers facing barriers to employment is preferred.
