Kindergarten Teacher

Job Description

Job Description

Job Overview

The Lilypad Schools is seeking an exceptional teacher to lead a high-level kindergarten

classroom. Our students are children who either missed the state age cutoff for public

kindergarten or are ready for a greater challenge, so they follow a full kindergarten-level

curriculum while you scaffold instruction to meet each child where they are. This is a single-

teacher classroom of approximately 16 students, and you will own the planning and daily

execution of engaging, well-structured lessons. We are looking for a true educator who builds

real learning, not a room full of worksheets. Schedule is 6:30-4:30, $18 to $20 per hour.

Duties

• Plan and teach a full kindergarten-level curriculum across core subject areas

• Scaffold and differentiate instruction so every child is both challenged and supported

• Design and lead engaging, hands-on lessons that hold attention and build real skills

• Run a single-teacher classroom of approximately 16 students with clear structure and

routines

• Maintain strong classroom management that keeps the room calm, focused, and

productive

• Track each child's progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs

• Communicate regularly and warmly with families about their child's growth

Skills

• A track record of planning and delivering a genuine curriculum, not worksheet-driven busy

work

• Excellent classroom management and the ability to build structure and routine

• Skilled at scaffolding and differentiating for a range of readiness levels

• Confident teaching and leading a classroom independently

• Organized, creative, and thorough in lesson planning and execution

• Experience teaching kindergarten or a strong early childhood background

You would be joining a team that knows young children are capable of far more than

worksheets, and that a skilled teacher makes all the difference. If you take pride in building real

learning for little ones and running a classroom you are proud of, we would love to meet you.
