Position Summary

BrotherlyLove Electric is seeking a qualified Generator Technician – Level II or Level III to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing generator systems while providing excellent customer service and maintaining a strong commitment to safety. This position serves customers throughout the Houston metropolitan area. Candidates should be dependable, professional, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

· Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair generator systems.

· Perform preventative maintenance and routine generator inspections.

· Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues and recommend appropriate repairs.

· Respond to customer service calls and complete assigned work efficiently.

· Perform generator startup, testing, and commissioning as qualified.

· Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance records, and documentation.

· Communicate professionally with customers regarding service findings and recommendations.

· Follow company safety procedures, applicable electrical codes, and manufacturer guidelines.

· Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles in good condition.

· Participate in the company’s weekend on-call rotation.

· Travel to customer locations throughout the Houston metropolitan area.

Qualifications

· Hands-on experience with generator installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair.

· Practical electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

· Knowledge of generator systems, controls, and transfer switches.

· Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical documentation.

· Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

· Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

· Appropriate Texas electrical licensing for the assigned duties, unless an applicable exemption applies.

· Willingness to travel throughout the Houston metropolitan area and participate in the weekend on-call rotation.

· OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

Relevant experience with the following generator brands is preferred:

· Generac

· Kohler

· Cummins

· Briggs & Stratton

Candidates will be considered based on technical knowledge, practical skills, licensing, and ability to perform the responsibilities of the position. No specific minimum number of years of experience is established.

Technician Levels

Level II Generator Technician

· Performs standard generator installations, maintenance, and repairs.

· Diagnoses common generator and electrical issues.

· Works independently on routine assignments and seeks assistance when needed for complex problems.

· Follows established safety procedures and manufacturer specifications.

Level III Generator Technician

· Performs advanced troubleshooting, complex repairs, and generator commissioning.

· Diagnoses challenging electrical, mechanical, and control-system issues.

· Works independently on complex service calls.

· Provides technical guidance and support to other technicians when needed.

Level II and Level III are internal company classifications based on experience, technical ability, and job responsibilities.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

· Work at residential and commercial customer locations.

· Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in confined or elevated spaces when necessary.

· Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment consistent with the job’s requirements and applicable safety practices.

· Follow all applicable safety procedures when working around electrical equipment and generator systems.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting pay is $30–$34 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, technical ability, and assigned level.
