Senior Civil Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for leading civil site design and land development activities for large-scale power generation, mission-critical, and industrial infrastructure projects. This role oversees site planning, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, permitting, and civil engineering deliverables from early-stage feasibility through construction. The position works closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in land development, site infrastructure, and civil engineering design for complex projects. They will support site selection and due diligence efforts, manage permitting and agency coordination, develop engineering standards and design documentation, and provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.

Skills and Requirements

-Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

-Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within 12 months.

-7+ years of civil/site engineering experience supporting large-scale industrial, power generation, mission-critical, or infrastructure projects.

-Experience with site development, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and land development design.

-Knowledge of civil permitting processes, including grading, stormwater, and land use approvals.

-Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external stakeholders.

-Proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or similar civil engineering design software.

-Strong understanding of construction documentation, QA/QC processes, and civil design standards. -Experience supporting power generation facilities, data centers, or large industrial campus developments.

-Familiarity with FEMA floodplain requirements and stormwater best management practices.

-Knowledge of environmental permitting frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements.

-Experience managing civil design scopes within EPC or design-build project delivery models.

-Background in site selection, feasibility studies, and civil constructability assessments.

-Experience designing heavy equipment foundations, access roads, and equipment support infrastructure.

-Involvement in commissioning activities and construction-phase troubleshooting.

-Experience developing engineering standards, templates, and scalable site development processes.
