Toolmaker III

Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. 5 years tooling experience and/or relevant training. Valid Driver’s License required. Job Description Position Purpose: Construct, rework, repair, inspect and modify a wide range of tools from Engineering and Tool Design drawings using verbal or written instructions. Essential Functions Setup and proficiently operate tool shop machinery and equipment to fabricate, assemble, modify, and repair tools from Engineering and/or Tool Design drawings. Lead one to two lower‑level toolmakers. Plan and lay out work from Engineering, Tool Design drawings and specific manuals. Coordinate interrelated tooling alongside primary tasks. Perform all calculations of material and machine cutters (speeds & feeds). Set up and utilize precision measuring tools; verify own work for conformance to specifications. Set up and conduct tool prove‑out on new and reworked tools. Communicate with others on work order status and completion of work. Repair and maintain tooling fixtures, scaffolding, dollies, hoists, and test equipment. Conduct visual and periodic inspections and proof loads on tooling. Comply with all safety regulations. Operate cart and forklift. Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements Must understand and apply shop math. Must be able to read and understand complex blueprints, sketches, verbal instructions, and tool design. Must understand Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing. Must be proficient in operating all tool shop machinery and precision measuring devices. Ability to lift 50 pounds. This job requires ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
