About the Position

Job Title: PET/CT Tech Profession: Allied Specialty: PET/CT Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 5x8.0 Hours per Shift: Varying shifts of either 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Nuclear Medicine Technology License: NYS License Certifications: ARRT Certification, BLS Certification, CT Certification Must-Have: - Nuclear Tech experience - NYS License - ARRT Certification with CE credits - BLS Certification - CT experience Description: Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. Positions patients and performs imaging procedures. Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients' age and ability to understand the procedure. Reviews patient information and interprets data to confirm appropriate plans and interventions specific for age-related needs. Performs nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable standards and organizational policies. Analyzes results and identifies issues with imaging quality. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures. Enters, transmits, and reports scan results. Orders, prepares, administers, stores, and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and regulations. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms.
