Shifts: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, including every other weekend
Seven Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician for a travel assignment in a large, busy off-site reprocessing center in Bethpage, NY. This state-of-the-art facility provides sterile processing services to multiple healthcare sites, including tertiary centers and ambulatory surgery centers. - Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies following specifications and protocols
- Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, and heat sealers
- Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts
- Retrieve and decontaminate used trays, instruments, and equipment
- Examine instruments and equipment for cleanliness and functionality
- Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining inventory levels
- Maintain a contaminant-free work environment
- Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD) required
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- 2 years of certified experience in a tertiary setting or 1 year with 4 additional years of SPT experience
- Proficiency with STERIS Washers and Autoclave systems; knowledge of SynergyTrak IT System
- Ability to rotate through all areas including decontamination
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry 25 pounds
- Effective communication skills in English
- Must follow provided dress code requirements
