2nd Grade Teacher

What You Will Do:

• Develop strong, positive relationships with students and their families
• Adapt curriculum materials and classroom work to meet the needs of students as needed
• Administer assessments (classroom, district, etc.)
• Lead whole-class and small-group instruction to improve student success in academics
• Manage student behavior and provide a safe and orderly learning environment
• Model appropriate verbal communication to help students develop/improve their skills
• Participate in professional learning activities
• Monitor student activities in and around the school to ensure the safety of every student in the classroom, in the cafeteria, and on the playground
• Carry out responsibilities with little or no prompting.
• Demonstrate professional behavior in manner and appearance.
• Work cooperatively with building staff.
• Regular, timely, and predictable attendance

• Bachelor's in teaching or be currently enrolled in an alternative certification program.
• Able to assess and document student progress
• Professional in personal conduct and actions
• Strong organizational, classroom management, collaboration, and communication skills
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with young children, parents, staff, administration, and the general public
• Demonstrated competence in the use of technology
• Active and continuous learner in the area of elementary education, research-based instructional strategies

• Passion for working with young children in a collaborative environment
• Organized, flexible, and able to multitask
• Desire to grow professionally
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and students
