We are seeking compassionate and dedicated nurses to join a residential school serving blind and visually impaired students in the St. Louis, Missouri area. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working with pediatric and young adult populations in a structured school environment.

Position Details

• Position: School Nurse (RN or LPN)

• Openings: 2

• Location: St. Louis, MO

• Pay Rate: $32/hour

• Schedule Options:

• Day Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

• Evening Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 3:00 PM - 10:45 PM

• Hours: 40 hours per week

• Contract Length: 1 Year

• Start Date: August 25, 2026

• Interview Required: No

About the Facility

This position is located within a residential school environment serving approximately 35-40 students ages 6-21 who are blind or visually impaired. Nurses work in the school health office and play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of students.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical nursing care and treatment to students.

• Assess and assist students requesting medical attention.

• Review medical complaints, injury reports, and physician orders daily.

• Administer medications according to physician instructions.

• Document student encounters, medications, treatments, and consultations in real time.

• Maintain accurate health records and nursing documentation.

• Complete Daily Health Center Logs and required reports.

• Manage medication inventory and order medical supplies as needed.

• Monitor students with special healthcare needs and report significant findings.

• Maintain first aid kits and medical bags for school activities and outings.

• Ensure all records, reports, and correspondence are completed accurately and on time.

Qualifications

• Active Missouri RN or LPN license.

• Experience working with pediatric, school, behavioral health, residential, or developmental disability populations preferred.

• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a school setting.
