Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Proven experience working with students who are visually impaired, preferably in a K-12 setting
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, tactile graphics, and accessible instructional materials
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
• Commitment to fostering inclusion and equity within the classroom

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess students’ abilities and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Provide direct instruction in compensatory skills, Braille literacy, orientation and mobility, and use of assistive technology
• Consult with teachers and staff to adapt curriculum and classroom materials for accessibility
• Advocate for students’ needs and provide resources, training, and guidance to classroom staff and families
• Monitor and report student progress, adjusting strategies and supports as needed
