Crisis Center Admissions and Billing Specialist

Position Summary Sea Mar Community Health Centers is recruiting a Crisis Center Admissions and Discharge Coordinator to provide direct services to patients in the 23‑Hour Crisis facility and the Residential Site for Crisis Stabilization, emphasizing admission, discharge planning, and after‑care follow‑up for high‑risk adults with substance use disorder or mental health diagnoses. Responsibilities Screen and evaluate individuals, refer them to appropriate treatment and service programs within the facility and in the community. Assist clients with psychological, social, and emotional needs under guidance of the Clinical Supervisor. Develop and coordinate thorough discharge plans in collaboration with patients, families, and community agencies. Provide ongoing post‑discharge follow‑up and assist with linkage to additional resources. Collaborate with staff, Peer Support Specialists, and Mental Health Clinicians to assess client needs before discharge. Facilitate referrals to outpatient behavioral health providers, substance abuse treatment centers, housing, medical care, or other community resources. Participate in regular staff meetings, in‑service training, and maintain accurate patient records per ASAM and facility procedures. Perform related tasks as assigned by the Program Manager/Clinical Supervisor. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or related field (preferred). Minimum three years of relevant experience, including work with individuals in crisis. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to read and interpret procedural documents. Proficiency in basic mathematics and reasoning abilities for handling data and problem‑solving. Current First Aid Certificate, CPR certification maintained for duration of employment, and annual TB test compliance. Valid Washington State driver’s license. Full vaccination for Covid‑19 (with approved medical or religious exemption). Annual influenza vaccine required (exemption may be granted). Ability to maintain a strict oath of confidentiality and comply with Sea Mar ethics and DOH regulations. Conditions of Employment Must sign an oath of permanent confidentiality covering all patient‑related information. Must pass a Background Check and Washington State Patrol screening. Must have no history of alcohol or drug misuse for the past two years and maintain sobriety while employed. Annual clinical competency test required. Compliance with all Sea Mar ethical standards and Department of Health requirements. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, and speaking; occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds and, at times, up to 25 pounds. Ability to use hands for tasks such as handling and feeling; reach with arms. Requires good vision including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
