Distribution Design Engineer

The Distribution Design Engineer role involves system design, engineering, and supervisory tasks. You will be responsible for creating distribution design prints in line with distribution design guidelines and standards, specifying construction standards, and mentoring new distribution designers. Additionally, you will provide quality assurance and control for design projects, perform cost estimates, and support distribution designers with customer-related issues.

Responsibilities:

• Create distribution design prints following distribution design guidelines and standards.
• Specify distribution construction standards.
• Review, approve, and stamp distribution designs and drawings.
• Mentor and train new distribution designers.
• Provide quality assurance and control of design projects.
• Specify necessary materials according to distribution construction standards.
• Perform and provide cost estimates to customers.
• Support distribution designers with customer-related issues and expectations.
• Prepare new drawings using AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Utility Design methods.

Essential Skills:

• Distribution design
• Transmission and power delivery expertise
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Knowledge of NESC and distribution power systems
• 5+ years of distribution design experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in engineering/design discipline
• Experience with DDS/AutoCAD/GIS
• Resiliency and grid hardening experience
• Proficiency in design, power distribution, and engineering
• Experience in Microstation, electrical design, and utility design
• Bg in drafting, power and utilities, and electrical engineering

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
