Job Opportunity – Medical Rehabilitation Registered Nurse – West Virginia

Start Date: September 17, 2026

Location: West Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week; 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM); weekdays with every other weekend; float coverage to medical-surgical units as needed

Highlights:

• 24-bed medical rehabilitation unit specializing in cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, amputations, neurological diseases, and severe deconditioning
• Collaborative interdisciplinary care model featuring physiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and social workers working together to create individualized patient care plans
• Patient ratios: 1:5-6 on night shift with an average length of stay of approximately 2 weeks
• Cerner electronic medical record system; royal blue/white scrubs; free parking provided
• Major teaching facility and Level 1 Trauma Center with 855 staffed beds
• Block schedule requests considered and discussed during interview; no on-call requirement

Requirements:

• Active West Virginia or Compact RN License (pending license accepted for submission but must be active prior to start date)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; minimum 1 year of acute care rehabilitation experience required
• BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Acute care rehab certification preferred; charge nurse experience preferred
• Must reside at least 100 miles from facility location (75-99 miles considered case-by-case)
• Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required
• Flu vaccination required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medical exemption documented by physician or allergist
• First-time travelers accepted
