Maintenance Technician IIWe're searching for a Maintenance Technician II, someone who's ready to be part of the best ranked children's hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will perform demand and scheduled preventive maintenance of the facility equipment to cover all trades including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, pneumatic tube, painting, carpentry and associated systems in accordance with departmental, hospital and regulatory agency codes. Specific duties include maintaining facilities and equipment in hospital or clinic environments.Think you've got what it takes?Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerforms preventative maintenance and repairs on multiple systems and equipment to ensure a safe environment and operational reliability according to standards established by management team.Performs inspections, maintenance, and repairs to facilities to provide a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.Performs repairs to failed equipment according to established standards and within acceptable timeframes.Provides notification of equipment shutdowns to appropriate leadership, departmental personnel, and Service Response Center Operators.Maintains documentation to accurately record equipment problems and failures, including work order completeness.Logs on and updates information in the computer-based maintenance system. Reports major failures and equipment malfunctions to Manager.Assists with, oversees and/or inspects repairs or modifications performed by contractors. Demonstrates ability to perform basic power and hand tool skill sets.Demonstrates basic firefighting equipment use: R.A.C.E. fundamentals. Fire extinguishers. P.A.S.S. fundamentals.Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving maintenance duties for multiple systems and equipment according to standards established by management team.Demonstrates technical knowledge depth on multiple pieces of equipment and associated systems according to standards established by management team.Demonstrates work product meets the expected criteria.Demonstrates accountability for customer service and professional behavior through personal work ethic and teamwork.Demonstrates accountability for effective communication skills.Demonstrates accountability for management of skill sets.As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.Skills & RequirementsRequired High School Diploma or equivalentRequired 2 years' experience as a general maintenance service-related technicianPreferred hospital experienceSince 1954, Texas Children's has been leading the charge in patient care, education and research to accelerate health care for children and women around the world.
