About the Role:

Finest Supermarket is looking for a talented and passionate Baker/Pastry Chef to join our team in Fredericksburg, VA! Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, pastries, desserts, and baked goods from scratch
• Develop and execute recipes while maintaining consistent quality and presentation
• Monitor and manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies
• Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards are followed
• Decorate and plate pastries and desserts to meet visual and quality standards
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate production schedules and meet daily demands
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking station and equipment

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef, or similar role in a professional kitchen
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
• Ability to work early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed
• Food Handler's Certification or ServSafe certification preferred
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality and consistency
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Culinary degree or formal pastry training is a plus
