About the Role:
Finest Supermarket is looking for a talented and passionate Baker/Pastry Chef to join our team in Fredericksburg, VA! This is your chance to bring creativity and craftsmanship to a role where your baked goods take center stage. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, pastries, desserts, and baked goods from scratch
- Develop and execute recipes while maintaining consistent quality and presentation
- Monitor and manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards are followed
- Decorate and plate pastries and desserts to meet visual and quality standards
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate production schedules and meet daily demands
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking station and equipment
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef, or similar role in a professional kitchen
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Ability to work early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed
- Food Handler's Certification or ServSafe certification preferred
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality and consistency
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Culinary degree or formal pastry training is a plus
