Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Full time, Salaried, Harlem 2090, New York, NY, US 7 days ago Requisition ID: 2348 Salary Range: $165,000.00 To $170,000.00 Annually Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Job Summary: CASES is seeking a skilled and recovery-oriented Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to serve in a key clinical leadership role on the ACT Team. In partnership with the Team Leader, the PMHNP holds shared responsibility for the delivery of high-quality, person-centered clinical services. This role includes conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments, providing psychopharmacological treatment, and coordinating consumers’ physical and behavioral health care needs. The PMHNP collaborates closely with interdisciplinary team members and external providers and delivers care in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and recovery-oriented manner that addresses the complex realities of individuals living with serious mental illness in the community. Salary: The salary range for this role is $165,000 - $170,000 per year. Shift Hours: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is full‑time position working Monday – Friday from 10:00am – 6:00pm, or 11:00am – 7:00pm. Workplace Flexibility: Flexible, maximum 1 day/week virtual team meeting. What You Will Be Doing: Conduct initial comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and monthly psychiatric assessments in the community. Prescribe medications through e‑prescribing function of agency’s electronic health record, educate consumers about their medications and side effects, and monitor consumers’ response to prescribed medications. Coordinate consumers’ medication management needs with the ACT nursing staff, including ordering blood work and/or toxicology testing when indicated, managing prior authorizations for medications, and administering injectable medications when needed. Complete and sign assessments, progress notes, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with New York State Office of Mental Health regulations, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene guidelines, and Medicaid billing standards and regulations. Coordinate care with family and other community service providers or collaterals including, but not limited to, hospitals, housing providers, shelter staff, criminal justice personnel, Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT), and primary health care providers. Participate in team meetings and clinical meetings to collaborate and discuss clinical issues and client needs with other team members. Use motivational interviewing, developmentally and culturally appropriate, recovery‑oriented, and trauma‑informed approaches when delivering services. Perform any other duties required by ACT Leadership and senior executive staff. Help maintain a safe and clean environment, ensuring proper use and disposal of medical supplies/equipment as required, adhere to infection control protocols, and notify supervisor immediately of any potential safety hazard identified in the office/client‑care environment. What We Are Looking For: Currently licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the NYS Education Department. Current board certification by The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Extensive experience working with adults with serious mental illness, co‑occurring substance abuse, who may also be justice‑involved, homeless, with limited social support.
