About the Position

Job Title: ER Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Active New York License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: Mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement. Ability to float as needed when census warrants. Every other weekend availability is required. Description: Position involves working in the Emergency Room. Team will include nurses managing mixed/shared acuity levels. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5. Candidates should have experience interpreting dysrhythmias. Management of dysrhythmias is a key responsibility. The role includes administering blood products and central line care. Candidates must be skilled in phlebotomy and starting IVs. The position requires knowledge in administering continuous IV paralytics and sedation. Emergency medications and IV vasopressors will be managed. Procedural sedation administration is part of the expected duties. Candidates will care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure. Important to follow isolation precautions and appropriate PPE measures. Experience with Epic charting is preferred. A combination of navy and white scrubs is acceptable. Interdisciplinary support will be available, including pharmacy and therapy services. Daily census includes a variety of patient age groups from neonates to geriatrics. Candidates should have strong general emergency department experience. The role includes accommodating block scheduling when possible, but not guaranteed. Mandatory competencies include managing cerebrovascular accidents (CVA) and handling psychiatric holds.
