Assistant Project Manager

Responsibilities Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes. Oversee project activities as assigned, such as planning, coordinating, and resolving problems while maintaining company and project policies and standards. Maintain change orders, submittal, and drawing control logs and prepare required logs for construction meetings. Prepare contract submittals that are accurate and timely, and create and issue subcontractor contracts. Assemble and deliver Owner and Maintenance Manuals, ensuring the quality control plan is followed. Interact with subcontractors to obtain correct documentation and drawings for the manuals and maintain the Warranty Log. Attend company and project meetings with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to provide project management support. Cooperate with and technically assist field personnel in the assigned area of responsibility. Monitor other contractors’ activities and progress and create Job Information Sheets and job files. Prepare price change orders and project reports, and work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information. Perform any additional duties as assigned within the business unit. Qualifications & Requirements Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods. Professional demeanor, tactful communication, and ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors, and others. Strong organizational, record‑keeping, and follow‑up skills with meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Oracle preferred. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing requirements, and work under pressure. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player who can engage all levels of staff. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience) and minimum one year of experience in a construction‑related role. Travel & Working Conditions Travel required: 100% of the time. Position is performed primarily on active construction sites, involving sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs. Work is conducted primarily indoors under varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning, with noise levels typically low to medium.
