Maintenance Technician Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician will install, repair, and maintain equipment and facilities. Duties/Responsibilities: Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality. Try out equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime. Collaborate with Machine Builders to ensure successful build of automated machines and equipment from blueprints. Assisting in sub-assembly of tooling and fixtures. Record operational data, such as pressure readings, length of stroke, feeds and speeds for use in set-up and preventive maintenance records or program. Participate in Production workshops to support continuous improvement: propose and implement continuous productivity, process and quality improvement actions. Give advice on technical specifications of new equipment and alterations on existing. equipment and facilities, making sure manufacturing, maintainability and EHS requirements are met. Assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the company. Required Skills/Abilities: Machine Builder experience preferred Proven ability to undertake tasks of substantial variety or complexity which require an extensive knowledge of fabrication/processing techniques, tools, materials, machines and equipment Electro-mechanics and automation skills Print reading ability for core proficiency..(Electrician or Mechanic) Working knowledge of Quality system and EHS skills Strong technical problem solving skills Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills Education and Experience: Technical diploma or equivalent certification Journeyperson status, technical diploma, or equivalent certification highly preferred At least 3 years of maintenance/engineering experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment Electricians must be licensed in the state of Michigan Physical Requirements: Lifting products, equipment, packages or miscellaneous items up to thirty (30) pounds unassisted and up to forty-five (45) pounds with assistance. Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application.
